The Silverback Bullhead "Hollywood" - Custom Bullhead Chronograph – "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood"

The Inspiration This build was born from my desire to own the iconic 1970s Citizen "Red Monkey" Bullhead Chronograph, made famous by Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Original vintage models are incredibly hard to find and will easily set you back £1000+ for a decent example.This custom Silverback piece offers a stunning, highly accurate nod to the original at a fraction of the cost—with the added benefit of modern quartz reliability.

The Build & Design

Starting with a classic 38mm stainless steel Bullhead case, brass dial, and a dependable LD57 movement, each watch is meticulously rebuilt and thoroughly tested by me. It features my custom 3D gold Silverback Gorilla branding and is paired with a premium brown leather "Bund" cuff strap with matching gold-coloured hardware to perfectly capture that Brad Pitt Hollywood aesthetic. Like all early-model Bullheads, the 38mm case is traditionally proportioned, but the addition of the military-style Bund strap gives it superb wrist presence, allowing it to wear like a much larger timepiece. Give it a go—it is a guaranteed talking point!
